What happens after you press the button

We match the address to its registered title and confirm HM Land Registry will issue a copy of it right now. That usually takes a few seconds.

If it will, the next page shows the matched title and the price: £24.95 for the register, or £39.90 with the title plan where the title has one. After you pay you come back to this site, where the document is shown on screen with a plain-English summary, and it is also emailed to you. That is usually within minutes between 6.30am and 11pm. HM Land Registry's service is closed outside those hours, so an order paid then is delivered when it reopens. If the check needs a person to look at it, we email you within one working day instead. If we cannot supply the document, we tell you so and you pay nothing at all.

Want the title plan as well?

The title plan is a separate official copy showing the boundaries on a map. Once the title is confirmed, the payment page offers it for £14.95 more, £39.90 for both.

Why we ask first

Not every property has a registered title, and sometimes an application is pending against a title, which stops HM Land Registry issuing a copy of it. Charging you before checking would mean taking money for something we might not be able to deliver.
